The Mozambican President, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, visited the district of Mecula, on January 21st, as part of his presidential visit to Niassa province.
In his passage through Mecula, the President showed that despite the circumstances of attacks in the months of November 2021, the situation is gradually returning to normality, although the Defense and Security Forces are still in place to respond to any threat that may be registered.

It is noteworthy that the district of Mecula is part of the lot of 8 districts that are inserted in the geographical area of Niassa Special Reserve. During the visit, the President called on the population to be united and vigilant against the attacks that have been perpetrated by insurgent groups.
The President also informed that his visit to Mecula had the purpose of understanding what happened, and to guide the Defense and Security Forces, appealing to the population to collaborate directly with the force, so that there is trust between the parties.
