The Niassa National Reserve (RNN) has been raising its level of hygiene and safety at work in the face of the Covid Pandemic 19 which has already claimed the lives of more than 16,000 people worldwide.
For this purpose, lectures have already been held, with Rangers as the main target group, for the dissemination of preventive measures against Covid 19.
Thus, in all patrol posts, the measures already defined by the Central Government are being strictly observed, especially with regard to mandatory washing of hands with soap whenever there is contact with working or captured instruments.
Prevention posters were also produced for all patrol stations and new containers for hand washing and disinfection were also set up.
It should be noted that these measures taken by Niassa National Reserve are in line with the report of the President of Mozambique, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, in his communication to the nation on 20th March, where he informed that all institutions must implement preventive measures against Covid 19.
On the same occasion, the President of Mozambique informed other more stringent measures for the country to face this pandemic that will come into force as of March 23, namely:
Creation of a Technical Scientific Committee;
Suspension of issuing entry visas and canceling all already issued;
Reinforcement of the 14-day quarantine measures FOR ALL TRAVELERS;
Determined the closure of all schools;
Suspension of all social events with more than 50 people; and
Reinforcement of inspection measures to guarantee the supply of goods.
