A Mozambican delegation headed by the Director General of the National Administration of Conservation Areas (ANAC) attends the 18th Conference of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), which runs from 16 to 28 August 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The CITES Conference of Parties is the highest political decision-making meeting on the processes of protection, conservation, sustainable exploitation and international trade in species of fauna and flora, including coordinating efforts to combat environmental crime.
The Mozambican delegation consists of staff from the Ministry of Land, Environment and Rural Development, Ministry of the Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries, Attorney General's Office, Supreme Court, Customs of Mozambique, Eduardo Mondlane University, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Wildlife Conservation Society.
