Yesterday morning, July 5th, Mr. António Joaquim Paulo, Mecula District Administrator, received in his office Mr. Terêncio Tamele, Niassa Special Reserve (NSR) Warden, who was accompanied by four (04) experts on uncontrolled burning, of South African nationality, belonging to an organisation dedicated to the fight against uncontrolled burning, called WORKING FIRE.
This entity visited Mecula District (which is within REN) in order to study the best way to prevent and combat uncontrolled burning in this district and therefore in NSR, given the negative impact they cause to the ecosystem. It should be noted that this research has the endorsement of the National Administration of Conservation Areas (ANAC).
